Humane Society, local co. offer free spay/neuter surgeries

GAINESVILLE - The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) will be joining with Nuvo Visage, a Hall County-based company, to sponsor a program offering free spay/neuter surgeries. Called the SNIP Fund, the program is starting this month by offering one free surgery per week to area pet owners.

Lottery board: Support from Gov. needed for proposed gambling site

At a meeting on Thursday, the Georgia Lottery Corporation board of directors addressed Dan O'Leary's proposed gambling site in Norcross, saying it would like approval from Gov. Nathan Deal before moving forward.
